COURSE DESCRIPTION: As our classrooms become more and more diverse, we need to learn how to meet the individual needs of every one of our students. We can only do this if we learn how to develop our cultural competence and create culturally responsive lesson plans that truly know and lift every student. Through a series of activities and field trips, participants will reflect on their own cultural perspectives and have firsthand experiences with the diverse cultural fabric that is available in community.
CREDIT:1 hour of Drake EDMA credit or 1 hour of license renewal credit. The instructor will explain both options at the first class.
DRAKE CREDIT REGISTRATION FEE: $125. Pay at first class with either a check made payable to West Des Moines Community Schools or a credit card payment.
